Gaston P. Loomis
GASTON P. LOOMIS is a Partner in the Wilmington, DE office of McElroy Deutsch, where he is a member of the Firm’s Bankruptcy Group and Construction, Fidelity & Surety Practice Group. In bankruptcy, Gaston has experience representing creditors, debtors and trustees. Since joining the Firm, Gaston has often worked on bankruptcy cases representing surety companies and insurers.
Gaston has a broad litigation background and has handled cases for mainly corporate plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts, with a primary focus on commercial disputes, surety and insurance cases, mortgage foreclosure case and personal injury tort and construction defect. Prior to joining the Firm, Gaston managed the Delaware office of a firm that specialized in the mortgage default industry. He has also worked in-house with two publicly traded companies, where he dealt with financial regulatory and corporate compliance matters.
Gaston earned his degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and is licensed to practice in the states of Delaware, Georgia, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association, the Delaware Bankruptcy American Inn of Courts, and the Fidelity & Surety Law Indemnity and Bankruptcy Subcommittees of the American Bar Association.
