Louis P. DiGiaimo
LOUIS P. DIGIAIMO holds a Master of Laws degree in Litigation received from Emory Law School in 1987. He is a 1983 graduate of Siena College, and received a Juris Doctorate from Western New England College School of Law in 1986. While in law school he served as a staff member and then Lead Articles Editor of the Western New England Law Review. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the District of New York (Southern and Eastern Districts), as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits.
Mr. DiGiaimo was designated as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey in 1995. He has extensive experience in civil and complex commercial litigation and appellate practice before all state and federal courts, concentrating in the representation of life, health and disability insurers with respect to claims for benefits under individual and group policies of insurance and insurance fraud. He represents employers and fiduciaries with respect claims asserted under employee benefit programs and employment- related disputes including matters arising under ERISA, FMLA, and related statutes. He also represents insurance agents and brokers with regard to claims of professional malpractice.
Mr. DiGiaimo’s trial and litigation experience involves a diversity of types of insurance policies and claims including, but not limited to, life and disability claims and fraud, property damage, personal injury, professional malpractice including agent/broker, medical and legal malpractice; and general liability coverage.
Mr. DiGiaimo co-authored the New Jersey Chapter of The Law of Life Insurance published by the Defense Research Institute, of which he is a member and on the Committee for ERISA, Life, Health, and Disability Law. He is also a member of the International Claim Association and the New Jersey and American Bar Associations. Mr. DiGiaimo is a frequent public speaker on all topics involving life, health, disability, and ERISA law.
